Hit the high ropes, which have 13-metre platforms and a Tarzan-style swing, and enjoy views of the rugged landscape in Lancashire.
You’ll love the zip wire line that runs over open water for the ultimate thrill-seekers.
And if you’re in the mood for a hike, we recommend visiting Rivington Pike, which has views of Blackpool Tower, the Lake District and the Isle of Man when the weather is clear.

Smithills Open Farm
The farm itself is constantly evolving, with new animals coming to stay every week. We provide homes for everything from cows, pigs, goats, sheep, rabbits, llamas, owls, meerkats, donkeys, ducks, skunks and deer’s. In fact, we have over 25 different types of residents.

Bolton Steam Museum
Volunteers from the Northern Mill Engine Society have rescued and restored over 30 old textile mill steam engines, which once powered the cotton mills and woollen mills of the North of England.
5.5 miles from the hotel – roughly 15 minutes drive.
The museum is only open on volunteers’ working days (Wednesdays and Sundays 11.00 am – 3.00 pm), and on occasional steaming days, 10.00 am – 4.00 pm.
As a charity, admission is free, but donations are welcome to help with operating costs Steam Days 2024.
Steam days at the museum for 2024 are :
Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday 25 – 26 August
Saturday and Sunday 26 – 27 October
Saturday and Sunday 28 – 29 December 10 am – 4pm
